Allan-ICS Client Project - Appleton Wastewater and Water Utilities Control Room

City of Appleton, WI

The project at the wastewater plant involved replacing a UNIX SCADA system with a redundant Intellution SCADA system using Square D & Modicon PLC’s. The Water Plant is a new facility where we designed and implemented a central redundant SCADA system using iFIX and Allen Bradley Controllogix PLC’s. There are 8 remote stations on the wastewater system using Motorola MOSCAD radios/RTU’s. The water system has 7 remotes using Allen Bradley PLC’s and Utilinet spread spectrum radios. Main High Lift pumps are being monitored and controlled at the water plant.

  • Over 7300 Data Points – Wastewater, over 2000 points in the water system
  • Square D, Modicon and Allen Bradley PLC’s
  • Motorola licensed radio’s and Metricom Spread Spectrum radio’s
  • Intellution iFIX redundant SCADA software at both plants
  • Complete System and Panel design, telemetry design and software configuration. Allan Engineering Co. Inc. prepared the plans and specifications for the public bid of the hardware on the water plant project
